MCARDLE: In my experience, getting addicted to drugs is something that happens to people who are already screwed up. I've rarely seen someone seized by drugs and alcohol who didn't have something else going on in their lives.Keep in mind that these are people who have written for The Atlantic, a prestigious and influential magazine. They also both presented at the Aspen Ideas Festival. They may not be household names, but they are up-and-coming opinion makers.
